Hi, I’m Casey—
—or Cas, or Yowl. I’ve been a character artist and writer since I first learned of the arts way back in some ambiguous point of the early to mid 2000’s. It wasn’t until the early 2010’s that I discovered the digital mediums of both, taking my crafts to phone apps and the much vaster internet; I’ve been here ever since, almost like fate, and now study them professionally as a full-time AET (Art and Entertainment Technologies) student at the University of Texas at Austin. I do further individual research of psychological and religious horror within games and internet-based mediums as a passion pursuit on the side.As a 22 year old now, I’m excited to bring these interests of mine to the gaming industry: one I’ve admired since my first years on the internet, watching playthroughs of Team GrisGris’ Corpse Party and Spike Chunsoft’s Danganronpa series when I was probably way too young for them. Character-driven RPGs are my bread and butter—whether we’re talking Konami's many Silent Hill installments, Dingaling Productions' gut-wrenching LISA, or Nankidai’s much-nicher Your Turn to Die visual novel—and I’m in the process of producing a fair list of my own projects in and outside of class, driven by my love of those aforementioned and more. In the meantime, I’d love the opportunity to work with you on yours. :-)My contacts are clickable above, and my resume is available for viewing and download by visiting its page or pressing the document icon below.

Documentation
Case 1:
Click to enlarge each image.A simple set of sprites featuring my character, Sam, for a final in a transmedia course I took fall of 2024. For it, I made a mock RPG scene spliced with additional game footage (modeled and filmed by a collaborator) for a multimedia effect. Only some of the above sprites made it into the submitted product, and it also features a couple sprites of another character of mine featured above, Cane.
Case 2:
An animatic I completed featuring original art and characters to TV Girl's "Melanie" for a class on color usage and literacy in spring of 2024. Under larger time constraints, I'd hope to perfect areas of this that are a bit awkward or unclear--but for what we were given, I'm still proud of the result and enjoyed presenting it to my instructors and peers. This particular project taught me a lot about managing myself under "crunches," lol.Although the original file of the frames has since corrupted and is inaccessible for a timelapse, I do still have the original file within my mobile editing app where I spliced each frame together across the 4 1/2 minute song--of which a BTS video is included below.
Case 3:
Click to enlarge the image. An ambitious pixel art piece featuring my character, Illya, that I took on as a long-term challenge in early 2024 and am still working on to this day. I've tentatively titled it "Illya Amongst Others." The end result is intended to be one of the most detailed pieces I've ever finished, and by far one of my most time-consuming. It's meant to really push me into a mindset of savoring each and every detail of an artwork up until completion and is only to be worked on when all else in my current queue has cleared and I can give it an unstressed focus. Despite its lack of polish, I'm really happy with how it's come along and what special thought I've given to making the process a unique one for me.Alongside the timelapse, I've included a video of me playing around with and going through some of the piece's current layers, as I find it especially interesting to see them toggled on/off the "Others."
If possible ...
... Disregard this section for now. I wanted to include it still as a WIP to show I was intending to cover both of my bases, but I'm still talking one-on-one with Jamil and Shannon about how writing portfolios (specifically) should be formatted since we've never really looked at them in AET.This will be properly set-up soon in regards to the upcoming showcase. It's just still being plotted with staff/industry help in present. :-)
